Dräger Polytron® 8000 — fixed gas detection transmitter (toxic, oxygen, flammable)
The Dräger Polytron® 8000 is a fixed, explosion-proof gas detection transmitter for continuous monitoring of industrial installations. It works with interchangeable DrägerSensor® plug-and-play sensors — electrochemical (toxic gases and oxygen), catalytic (Polytron 8100) and infrared (Polytron 8200/8700, flammable gases and CO₂). A display, an intuitive menu and sensor diagnostics simplify operation, while 4–20 mA and HART outputs together with the Ex-rated construction ensure integration with controllers and control systems.

Note: The variant (sensor, range, gas) and output configuration must be matched to the application and hazardous area. Design, installation and calibration are carried out as part of the deployment.
Key features
- Interchangeable DrägerSensor® sensors (plug-and-play) — toxic, oxygen, flammable, CO₂.
- Versions: 8100 (catalytic), 8200/8700 (infrared), electrochemical.
- 4–20 mA and HART outputs; integration with controllers (e.g. REGARD 7000).
- Display and sensor diagnostics; status and fault signalling.
- Explosion-proof construction (ATEX/IECEx); rugged enclosure.
- SIL functions — for applications with elevated safety requirements.

Frequently asked questions (FAQ)
Which gases does the Polytron 8000 detect?
Depending on the DrägerSensor®: toxic gases, oxygen, flammable gases (catalytic or IR sensor) and CO₂.
Does it work with a controller?
Yes — via the 4–20 mA / HART output it integrates with detection controllers (e.g. Dräger REGARD 7000) and control systems.
Are the sensors interchangeable?
Yes — DrägerSensor® sensors use plug-and-play technology, which shortens servicing and replacement.
