The MSA ALTAIR 4XR is a rugged 4-gas detector measuring combustible gases (LEL), oxygen (O₂), carbon monoxide (CO) and hydrogen sulphide (H₂S) using fast MSA XCell sensors. It responds to gas twice as fast as the market average and performs bump tests and calibration with half the calibration-gas consumption. Yes — it is a classic 4-gas detector for confined-space entries; combined with a pump it enables measuring the atmosphere before entry.
How often should it be calibrated?
A bump test before use, full calibration usually every 6–12 months. We perform this at the SafeTech station in Gdynia.
