Harstra K6 — drying cabinet for turnout gear and small equipment (6–9 sets)
The Harstra K6 is a wide, versatile drying cabinet — besides turnout jackets and trousers (6–9 sets), it also dries small equipment: gloves, masks and boots on optional frames. Built-in sensors detect when the equipment is already dry and automatically end the cycle — without the risk of over-drying and accelerated material wear, as with tumble dryers. Full stainless-steel housing and chamber, automatic drying cycle approx. 4 hours.
Key features
- Dries 6–9 sets of turnout jackets or trousers at the same time.
- Wider construction than the K3 — also room for small equipment (gloves, masks, boots) on optional frames.
- Automatic "set and forget" mode — a humidity sensor switches off drying by itself once the equipment is dry.
- A timed mode is also available (timer 1 min – 99:58 h).
- Significantly less material wear than in a tumble dryer — no mechanical friction.
- Housing and chamber entirely in stainless steel.
- 2 doors with magnetic seals, drip tray in polished stainless steel.
- F5-class air filter (EN 779) at the inlet.
- 4 adjustable feet — easy levelling.

Suitability
The K6 dries protective clothing — turnout jackets and trousers, and on optional frames also small equipment: gloves, masks and boots. Equipment must be properly washed/cleaned and disinfected before drying. The K6 is not intended for breathing apparatus (for that, the dedicated Harstra M45B).
Applications
Volunteer and state fire stations, professional fire brigades with a larger number of sets to dry at the same time, respiratory-protection workshops and industrial plants maintaining their own protective clothing and small equipment.
Frequently asked questions (FAQ)
What is the difference between the K6, K3 and K8?
The K6 has the same width and clothing capacity as the K8 (6–9 sets), but — on optional frames — it can also hold small equipment: gloves, masks and boots. The K8 is intended solely for turnout jackets and trousers, while the compact K3 holds a maximum of 3 sets.
How many sets of clothing fit in the K6?
A maximum of 6–9 turnout jackets or trousers at the same time, on a removable stainless-steel rail.
Does the drying cycle need to be monitored?
No — the automatic mode detects drying on its own and switches the device off (approx. 4 hours, depending on the load); a timed mode is also available.
Will the K6 dry breathing apparatus?
No — the dedicated Harstra M45B is intended for breathing apparatus (SCBA). The K6 dries turnout clothing and small equipment on frames.
