Dräger X-plore Rd40 filters and absorbers for masks (EN 14387)

Dräger X-plore Rd40 filters and absorbers are replaceable cartridges for half masks and full-face masks with a standard Rd40 threaded connector per EN 148-1. The series includes gas, particle and combined filters — from organic vapour absorbers to filters against inorganic and acid gases, ammonia and particles. The aluminium housing makes it easier to detect any damage and increases safety. The popular 1140 A2B2E2K2 Hg-P3 R D combined filter protects against a wide range of gases, vapours and particles.

Note: The filter type (A, B, E, K, Hg, P3 and class) is matched to the specific hazard and its concentration. Filters do not provide protection in oxygen deficiency (below 17% O₂) or at very high concentrations — in those cases breathing apparatus is required.

What does A2B2E2K2 Hg-P3 mean?

It is a combined filter: A (organic vapours), B (inorganic gases), E (acid gases), K (ammonia), Hg (mercury), P3 (particles, highest class). The number 2 is the absorber's capacity class.

Will the filter fit my mask?

If the mask has a standard Rd40 threaded connector (EN 148-1) — yes. We will help match the filter to the mask and type of hazard.

When is a filter not enough?

In oxygen deficiency (below 17% O₂) or very high gas concentrations — in those cases breathing apparatus (SCBA) or hose apparatus is required, not a filter.
